Egmont National Park
Egmont National Park is a national park in the western part of New Zealand's North Island, named after Mount Egmont, also known as Mount Taranaki. The forest below the mountain is famous as a tourist attraction as it grows a lot of precious plants such as Rimu and Rita trees. Here, you can trek to the top or try a day hike across the Pouakai Crossing. From June to October each year, Stratford Mountain Club operates Manganui, Mount Taranaki's only ski resort, a great choice for many skiers.

Pukekura Park is a national park located in the centre of Taranaki. The park has a wide variety of native and exotic plants, as well as water boating, forest trails and a children's park.
Pukeiti Gardens
Established in 1951, Pukeiti Gardens, situated in the Egmont National Park and surrounded by 360 hectares of forest, is a famous garden attraction in Taranaki. The gardens cover 20 hectares with a wide variety of flowers, especially rhododendrons of different varieties, and in addition to the flowers, the gardens are also home to virgin and regenerated rainforest.
Unique Carnival Days----WOMAD (World of Music, Art and Dance) Festival
Founded in 1980, WOMAD was conceived by a group of British rock musicians and original designers. Every March, the WOMAD festival comes to New Plymouth, combining new wave art and culture and the natural beauty of Taranaki together.

TSB Bank Festival of Lights
The TSB Bank Festival of Lights is held annually at Pukekura Park in the Taranaki area. It's free to all members of the public from mid-December to early February, and while it offers a wide variety of activities, it also transforms the park into a wonderland of lights gathering.
